BUILDING A BETTER COMMUNITY FOR ALL OF US: GARIE ROAD REPAIRS FINALLY UNDERWAY

BUILDING A BETTER COMMUNITY FOR ALL OF US: GARIE ROAD REPAIRS FINALLY UNDERWAY Main Image

After fighting alongside our community, I’m pleased to announce that the Minns Labor Government is getting on with the job of repairing Garie Road.

A major landslide occurred on Garie Road in mid-2022 that progressively grew due to constant rainfall, ultimately resulting in a full closure of the road.

For 12 years under the previous Liberal Government, roads like this and Heathcote Road were neglected, now with your support repairs will be complete by mid-2025.

This is a critical part of the $15 million project to move a section of the road further into the hill involving 89 concrete piles – each 15 metres long – to provide stability for the new route.

The Minns Labor Government is focused on building this road back stronger, with greater resilience so families can get back to the gorgeous Garie Beach.
