Heathcote MP Maryanne Stuart says work to repair the road to Garie Beach is progressing, and the expected reopening date remains mid-2025.

Ms Stuart provided an update following concerns expressed by the Garie Boardriders club, which has been unable to hold events at the location since before the road was damaged by an earth slip during record rain in March 2022.

Transport for NSW originally advised the project would be completed by mid-2004, but, in early July this year, Ms Stuart said "complications" meant the road would remain closed until at least the middle of 2025.

Ms Stuart said yesterday Fulton Hogan was awarded the contract on Friday June 14 and started work on Sunday July 14.

"They have completed site establishment including installation of staff facilities and power, set up of environmental and safety controls, and erection of security fencing," she said.

"Fulton Hogan started site excavation on Monday August 19 with ground movement monitoring, debris clearing and soil classification also taking place.

"Procurement of subcontractors is in progress and construction of a temporary platform is planned to start from next week.

"The time frame for the completion date to be still the middle of 2025."
