Heathcote MP Maryanne Stuart, with a large group of residents, launched a petition for pedestrian safety improvements at the intersection at the start of the year.
"Residents have been contacting Sutherland Shire Council about this intersection for years but nothing has been done," Ms Stuart said at the time.
"I have written to the council regarding the intersection numerous times. It needs urgent action."
