Sutherland Shire residents will soon have access to a new active sports youth precinct as work gets underway to upgrade Engadine Skate Park. The $2,555,254 project, including a $1,650,000 contribution through the NSW Government’s Greater Sydney Sport Facility Fund, will turn the area into an engaging youth precinct centred on high energy sports.
The recreational precinct will be made up of a skate park, half basketball court and parkour zone. It will also integrate meeting places and picnic areas, providing all members of the community with a multi-purpose and inclusive recreational space.
The improved and accessible facilities would bring all members of community together, encouraging young people to get out and get active while also providing a place to socialise in a safe and inclusive environment.
The NSW Government provides multiple types of grants each year to help create spaces and facilities that better serve communities and help them to keep healthy, active and connected.
