Heathcote MP Maryanne Stuart has thanked parents and concerned members of the community for attending a meeting regarding safety for school students using South Coast line train services.
The meeting, which Ms Stuart held on Wednesday evening at Helensburgh Tradies, was an opportunity for those affected to express their concerns directly to representatives of Transport for NSW (TfNSW), the Principal of Bulli High School, Ms Denise James, and Ms Stuart.
Ms Stuart has been working with the office of Police and Counter-terrorism Minister, the Hon. Yasmin Catley MP, and the Wollongong Police Area Commander, Jason Box to address the issue.
The Police Transport Command have been and will continue to be present on South Coast line services in the northern Illawarra.
The NSW Police Force Command Bus will be present on the 7:47am service from Helensburgh and the 3:25pm service from Bulli.
Discussions are ensuing with the Transport Minister, TfNSW and Ms Stuart on delivering bus services.
Ms Stuart will be visiting Bulli and Helensburgh stations over the coming weeks and will continue to update the community with progress.
