Heathcote MP Maryanne Stuart has contacted the Minister for Transport’s Office and Minister for Education’s Office concerning the stories she has heard from parents and school staff regarding the recent incidents on train services carrying students to school on the South Coast line.

Ms Stuart will be meeting with Ms Denise James, Principal of Bulli High School, representatives of Transport for NSW (TfNSW) and families.  This meeting will be held at Helensburgh Tradies at 4pm on 3 April 2024.

Ms Stuart is working on a bus service from Helensburgh to Bulli High School and return.

Ms Stuart has been contacted by multiple residents whose children have been placed in unsafe situations while travelling on South Coast trains. Reports have included a year 8 student being pushed down a set of stairs and a student who had a knife held to their throat.  There were further reports of threats being made, screaming, and bullying from non-students.
