Heathcote MP Maryanne Stuart has thanked electors for the trust they placed in her one year ago when she was elected Member for Heathcote at the 2023 New South Wales state election.
Ms Stuart has reflected on how many election commitments and other improvements that the Minns Government has secured for the Heathcote electorate since being sworn in one year ago.
These have included:
- Making the Bulli Urgent Care Centre accessible seven days a week
- $20 million for a detailed planning and investigation study required to determine the feasibility of constructing the Memorial Drive Extension.
- $24.6 million for upgrades of Sutherland Hospital’s operating theatre complex.
- $3 million in the 2023/24 budget as part of a $6 million commitment for a new police station in Helensburgh.
- Wildlife signs along Heathcote Road to protect koalas and $5 million to commence the planning for upgrading Heathcote Road.
- At least 47 temporary teachers and school support staff made permanent in the electorate.
- Coffee with a Cop initiatives improving the relationship between police and residents.
- Working with Wollongong City Council to secure CCTV to discourage anti-social behaviour at Bald Hill.
- The reintroduction of the platypus to the Hacking River and the confirmation of a juvenile animal in the river after fifty years of local extinction.
- The banning of LGBTQ+ conversion practices across New South Wales.
