Sports clubs in the Heathcote electorate can score a win with vital grant funding

27 July 2026

Sporting organisations across the Heathcote electorate can take advantage of up to $4.65 million in funding following the opening of the NSW Government’s Local Sport Grant Program.

The Program provides grants to community sporting organisations for new equipment, programs and facility upgrades that support and encourage participation in sport and active recreation in NSW.

Last year $4.49 million was awarded across the State for 586 community sport projects.

This year’s program includes grants from $2,000-$20,000, with up to $50,000 available in each electorate to support projects that increase participation and retention, provide inclusive opportunities for under-represented groups and strengthen the sustainability, capability and facilities of community sporting organisations.

Applications close 1pm, Monday, 17 August. Visit https://www.nsw.gov.au/grants-and-funding/local-sport-grant-program-lsgp-2026/27 for further information and to apply.

Minister for Sport Steve Kamper said:

"Community sport is the heartbeat of so many towns and suburbs across this state, and the Minns Labor Government is backing it in.

"Our volunteers and local clubs do the heavy lifting week in, week out, often with limited resources, and this is our way of saying we've got their back.

"If your club has a project or program it's been wanting to deliver, now is the time to apply and take advantage of this fantastic opportunity."
