Maryanne Stuart MP has launched a petition calling for Sutherland Shire Council to complete works to improve safety at the dangerous intersection of Old Princes Highway and Caldarra Avenue in Engadine.
The Member for Heathcote, who met with a large crowd of concerned residents and business-owners regarding the intersection yesterday, said that the community, businesses and residents needed urgent safety improvements to be completed at the site.
Ms Stuart is petitioning the Council to implement changes, such as:
- Safety bollards or railings
- Adhesive strips to prevent slipping on the footpaths
- Pedestrian crossings
