The Heathcote electorate is well known for being a world‑class destination for surfers. The picturesque beaches of the northern Illawarra and Royal National Park are the envy of the rest of the State. The electorate can add surfboard design to its claim to fame through the design program of Bulli High School. The program is empowering students to work with AkuShaper, a world‑leading surfboard design organisation, to teach students about design and shaping of boards. The partnership is already bearing incredible fruit, with some amazing designs being produced by the students. The program adds to Bulli High's deep connection to the beach. The school intends to produce a world champion surfer and I know that the integration of surfing into the education curriculum through this program will only bring that dream another step closer to being realised. I congratulate the staff, students and community of Bulli High on this incredible program. I am sure that it is only the beginning for the young designers and surfers of Bulli.
