I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Bulli Surf Life Saving Club's Dean Dudley on being elected to the board of Surf Life Saving NSW. It's an incredible honour for Dean who also served on the board from 2012-2017. His election to the board once more speaks volumes of his contribution to the surf life saving community in general. In the 2021/22 season, the average number of hours for every patrolling member at Bulli Surf Life Saving Club was about 44. Dean recorded the third highest number of patrol hours that season with 85.

Only Markus Meier-Lindner and Jamie Thorpe recorded more, with 95.25 and 99.75 hours, respectively. During the same season Dean was among a host of dozens of members who received a Bulli SLSC Lifesaving Citation after responding to an overturned boat at Peggy's Reef, Waniora Point. Following the 2021/22 season, Dean moved on from his position of Deputy Director at Bulli SLSC. Bulli's loss though ultimately proved to be Surf Life Saving NSW's gain. Congratulations again Dean on a well-deserved appointment.
