I recognise and celebrate the Shire New Horizons Band in Sutherland, an exceptional community of adult musicians, both beginners and those returning to their instruments. This remarkable group provides a welcoming space where over 50 members come together to share their love of music and support each other in their musical journeys. The Shire New Horizons Band is inclusive of all skill levels. Some members are picking up an instrument for the first time, others are learning new ones, and some are rediscovering their passion for playing after many years. In addition to their musical endeavours, the band fosters a sense of community and camaraderie, often taking time to enjoy morning tea together. That social aspect is as important as the music itself, creating a supportive and enjoyable environment for all.
