Wollongong Local Area Command

The members of the NSW Police force are an incredibly brave and selfless group of people. Every time they put on that uniform and go to work, they effectively prioritise the welfare of their community over their own. That is certainly the case with members of the Wollongong Local Area Command. As the community in the Illawarra continues to grow, so does the demand placed on our police officers. When there is an emergency, it is those officers who run towards the incident, not from it. To do so takes courage and an unwavering commitment to serve the community. Most of us cannot begin to imagine the scenes those officers come across on a regular basis whilst performing their duties. Police officers don't join the force to simply collect a pay cheque – they do it out of a sense of a duty and desire to serve. They often perform those duties without recognition, however, today I want to say thank you. Thank you to all those men and women who serve in the NSW Police Force, including those officers who are part of the Wollongong Local Area Command. Our community is eternally grateful for your efforts.
