There are plenty of people who live in the Heathcote electorate who have graced our televisions screens over the years. Some of those people include: Anh Do; Deborah Mailman; and David Field. Now another resident from the Heathcote electorate is making waves in the film industry – this time behind the camera though. Film-maker Nick Bolton, from Bulli, was recently named one of 13 people who were selected for a one week long workshop run by For Film's Sake. Nick, who is also chair of Screen Illawarra, has been a very vocal advocate for the industry in the Illawarra. That's why it came as no surprise that Nick said he would be using his time in the workshop to speak to others within the industry about the benefits of filming in the Illawarra. The appointment to the workshop was the latest accolade for Nick whose film, Mate, was long-listed for the 2022 Oscars. Congratulations again Nick on a wonderful achievement. I cannot wait to see what projects you will be involved on in the future. You are not only a champion of the film industry, but also a champion of the Illawarra.
